8th Prague Workshop on Catheter Ablation
with Live Demonstrations
April 4–5, 2005
Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine Prague, Czech Republic
WELCOME ADDRESS
Dear Colleague,
Welcome to the 8th international Prague workshop on catheter ablation with live demonstrations.
One of the main topics of this meeting is how to deal with patients after surgical correction for congenital heart disease who develop various postincisional arrhythmias. In order to get in depth knowledge of anatomy after the most frequent surgical procedures for congenital heart disease, both principles of surgery and postprocedural cardiac imaging will be reviewed. This introduction will be followed by lectures about clinical utility of non-contact mapping and electroanatomical mapping in this setting, and finally by two live cases. As in previous years, interesting case reports or the results of your studies will be discussed in a special session.
Thanks to one of the three principal sponsors, Biosense Webster , Inc, you will have a unique opportunity to listen to a lecture about the newest version of electroanatomical mapping system that employs full image integration
- CARTO MERGE™, and to watch catheter ablation procedure for atrial fibrillation navigated by this system.
The last case of the meeting will deal with catheter ablation of focal left ventricular outflow tract tachycardia navigated by intracardiac echocardiography. After a review lecture, you will follow the live case from the catheterization laboratory.
We will also include few short industry-sponsored lectures on technical advances in mapping and/or catheter ablation.
As usually, the scientific programme will be followed by a reception that will take place in a special place close to the historical Prague Castle.
We hope that you will find the workshop interesting and look forward to meeting you in Prague.
